Empowering Women, Challenging Beauty Standards

Free Your Scalp is dedicated to uplifting Black and Brown women by nurturing beauty from within and promoting healthy living.

Our Mission

Free Your Scalp, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to empower Black and Brown women through beauty, wellness, and holistic health, fostering self- confidence and community well-being.

Free Your Scalp, addresses the lack of accessible, culturally affirming spaces where women of color can care for their hair, health, and whole selves. Many women struggle with limited education on textured hair care, the impact of beauty standards on self-esteem, and a disconnect between beauty and wellness practices. Our programming solves this by offering hands-on hair education, wellness workshops, and mental health resources tailored to the unique needs of our community. We bridge the gap between beauty and well-being, helping women heal, feel seen, and empowered to care for themselves holistically.
